Coach Hire for Oktoberfest in Munich

From 18 September until 3 October 2027, Oktoberfest takes place on the Theresienwiese. The grounds have no parking, so the coach plan is about where to drop and where to wait.

No coach parking at the Theresienwiese

There is no parking at the Theresienwiese. Visitors are directed to P+R facilities. Hackerbrücke on the S-Bahn is one of the nearest stations. The others are Theresienwiese and Schwanthalerhöhe, both on the U4/U5.

Munich's low emission zone takes in everything within the Mittlerer Ring. Parking a coach anywhere inside the Altstadtring is not allowed either. They set down in designated drop-off zones instead, with a 20-minute maximum. The operator must send a compliant coach.

Hansastrasse, ZOB and the P+R bus stations

During Oktoberfest, the rate goes up at the Hansastrasse coach park by Heimeranplatz. ZOB Arnulfstrasse sits close to the Theresienwiese, but it is usually full, so do not count on it. For long stays, coaches park at the P+R bus stations at Messestadt-Ost and Fröttmaning.

The practical answer is often to drop the group, send the coach to a coach park, and bring it back at a fixed time. Tell the operator how long you plan to stay.

Planning the return leg

The return is where group days at the Wiesn go wrong. Agree a meeting point away from the busiest exits and a firm departure time. Count heads before the coach moves.

The driver has legal working limits. After a late return, the driver must rest at least 11 hours before the next job; three times a week that can be cut to 9. If you want an early start the following morning, tell the operator at booking.

Airport arrivals during the Wiesn

Allow 40-60 minutes for the 38 km or so between Munich Airport and the city. Coaches pick up beside Terminal 2, at long-distance stops 21 and 22; passengers from Terminal 1 walk 5-10 minutes.
