Madrid opened its Distrito Centro to labelled tourist coaches in 2026. The environmental label on the windscreen now decides where your coach can go.
DGT labels and the Madrid ZBE
Anywhere in Madrid, a vehicle with no DGT environmental label is banned. The Distrito Centro ZBEDEP admits buses and coaches that carry an ECO, CERO or C label. Ordinance 2/2026 let labelled tourist coaches into Distrito Centro. The BOCM published it on 6 April 2026.
Ask for the label on the quote. A coach with a C label or better reaches the Royal Palace area. One without a label cannot work in the city at all.
SEA Madrid coach spaces
There are 272 municipal coach spaces, run by SEA Madrid, and they come in four types: long-stay, 2-hour, 15-minute and 5-minute. Match the space to the job. A hotel set-down fits a 5- or 15-minute space. A Prado visit needs the coach somewhere for 2 hours or longer.

Rules for buses in Madrid
- Madrid ZBE: vehicles without a DGT environmental label are banned citywide.
- Distrito Centro ZBEDEP: buses and coaches with CERO, ECO or C labels may enter.
- Ordinance 2/2026 (BOCM, 6 April 2026) opened Distrito Centro to labelled tourist coaches.
- SEA Madrid runs 272 municipal coach spaces: 5-minute, 15-minute, 2-hour and long-stay.
Royal Palace, Prado and Retiro in one day
The Royal Palace and Plaza de Oriente sit inside Distrito Centro. Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are there too. The Prado is on the Paseo del Prado, with Retiro Park next to it and the Reina Sofía near Atocha. Group the stops by area and the coach moves fewer times.

Barajas and IFEMA
Barajas is about 15 km out, 20 to 45 minutes. Scheduled and private coaches use the 30 docks of the T4 bus station, and T1 has an area for bus parking. At T1 there is a meeting point listed by Aena on Floor 0, in the Arrivals Hall. IFEMA sits near the airport, so trade-fair groups staying by Barajas have a short hop.
Toledo, Segovia and El Escorial
El Escorial is 45 to 60 minutes. Toledo and Segovia take 1 to 1.25 hours each. Ávila is 1.25 to 1.5 hours.

Can a tourist coach enter central Madrid?
Yes, if its label is CERO, ECO or C. The 2026 ordinance allowed that.
Where does the coach load at Barajas?
The T4 bus station has 30 docks; T1 has a bus parking area. Send the terminal.
