Zurich has one city coach terminal, a well-run airport kerbside and short hops to Lucerne and the Rhine Falls. Plan around those three and the rest follows.

Zürich Bus Station at Sihlquai

Coaches and long-distance buses use one city terminal: Zürich Bus Station at Sihlquai. Renovated, it reopened in October 2024 with 28 stands. The main station is next door, and so is the Swiss National Museum.

It makes a good meeting point for groups arriving by train or coming from different hotels. Name the stand number when you brief the group, and send the same message to anyone joining late.

Kerbside access at Zurich Airport

The run from Zurich Airport to the centre is about 10 km, 20-35 minutes. At Arrival 1 and 2, the inner kerbside lane is for permitted limousines and coaches. Coaches wait at P12-300 or RFS and load at Bus Station Stand R.

Any vehicle over 2 m needs the kerbside permit, as do buses and minibuses of more than nine seats. An occasional single-trip user can get a gate ticket instead of a permit. The operator deals with this, but it explains why the coach waits off the kerb until you are through.

Oerlikon, the lake and The Circle on event days

Oerlikon is home to both the Hallenstadion and Messe Zürich. On the lake sits the Kongresshaus, and The Circle convention centre is at the airport itself. For a congress, a coach running between hotel and venue at set times keeps the group together and on time for sessions.

Lake boat trips leave from Bürkliplatz. Tell the operator if you want a drop there. Hotels in Oerlikon or around the airport at Glattbrugg keep congress transfers short.

Lucerne, the Rhine Falls and Titlis

Lucerne and the Rhine Falls are each about 50 km, 45-60 minutes. It is about 85 km to Mount Titlis at Engelberg. Bern is about 125 km. A coach with driver lets you combine two of them in one day without anyone in the group driving unfamiliar roads.

For a large group, yes. Fix one meeting point for after the game and a firm departure time.
