Coach and minibus transfers at Schiphol (AMS)
Schiphol has one terminal, which keeps the meeting simple. The coach stop is a short walk away, and the rules for coaches in central Amsterdam are strict. Plan for both.
Meet in Schiphol Plaza, board at Koepelstraat
All arrivals come out into Schiphol Plaza through Arrivals 1 to 4. Your group gathers there. Coaches do not load in the Plaza. Since 2 September 2024, coaches have stopped at the Koepelstraat arrival passage. Walking there takes about 5 minutes. With cases and tired passengers, allow longer. When it is busy, a host helps coach drivers and passengers.
Why the driver waits at P41
Coaches wait at P41, a free waiting area where they may stay up to 6 hours. It has a drivers' waiting area and a toilet. It is about a 10-minute drive from the terminal. So the driver needs a message once your group is out with its bags, not when the plane touches down. Agree who sends that message.

The S100 ring and central Amsterdam
The drive into Amsterdam is about 18 km, usually 20 to 40 minutes. Since 1 January 2024, any coach heavier than 7.5 tonnes has needed an exemption to go inside the S100 ring. The ring runs along roads including Nassaukade, De Ruijterkade and Stadhouderskade. Exemptions go only to certain groups, for example under-12s, elderly or disabled passengers, or performing artists.
For most adult groups, the coach stops at the edge. Stations on the edge of the centre with coach stops include Amstel, RAI, Zuid, Holendrecht and Sloterdijk. A stop usually gives 10 minutes; at De Ruijterkade Oost you get 15. If you are booked into a hotel on the Canal Ring, ask whether a lighter vehicle under 7.5 tonnes would serve you better.
Matching the vehicle to your Schiphol plan
A full coach suits groups staying around Zuidas and RAI or near Sloterdijk, where it can stop close by. For RAI conferences, coach stop H40 is near the venue. For a group heading straight to Keukenhof, about 40 km from Amsterdam, a coach with underfloor luggage space means bags stay on board during the visit.
