Coach and minibus transfers at Vienna Airport (VIE)
Every arriving passenger at Vienna Airport passes through a single hall, which keeps group meetings easy. The harder part is the city, where coaches cannot drive into the 1st district.
One arrivals hall, two sliding doors
Terminal 1, 1A or 3: whichever your flight uses, all passengers reach one shared arrivals hall through one of its two sliding doors. The driver meets your group there. Ask passengers to wait together in the hall and not drift outside. For a car or small van, the short-term car park K3 is handy: it lies just ahead of the arrivals hall.

Where coaches stop and park
Near both departures and arrivals, coach operators have areas to stop and park. The coach waits there while the driver meets you in the hall. Ask the operator how far the coach will be from the doors, and warn slower passengers about the walk.
The Innere Stadt ban and the Ring set-down points
Vienna is about 18 km by road, a drive of 25 to 45 minutes in most traffic. Since 1 May 2014 the Innere Stadt, Vienna's 1st district, has been closed to coaches. Groups staying there are set down on its edge. Set-down points that need no card include Schwedenplatz, Börseplatz, Votivkirche, Friedrich-Schmidt-Platz and Burgring. Most of them work 08:00–20:00 each day; Grinzing and Westbahnhof run around the clock.
A late landing needs thought. After 20:00, most central set-down points are out of use. Ask the operator which point works at that hour, or pick a hotel outside the 1st district.
Parking, Advent Saturdays and Bratislava
Bus parking spaces in Vienna generally cannot be reserved. For a full day in the city, the operator works out where the coach waits. On pre-Christmas Saturdays an Advent coach plan applies, published each year in late October. Some groups fly into Bratislava, about 80 km away, and come in by road. Tell the operator which airport you are using.

Could the coach set us down at a hotel near St. Stephen's Cathedral?
No. Coaches are barred from the Innere Stadt. The coach uses a Ring set-down point such as Schwedenplatz or Burgring, and you walk from there.
Can we reserve coach parking in Vienna?
Generally not. Bus parking spaces in Vienna usually cannot be reserved, so between drops the operator decides where the coach waits.
