Coach Hire Barcelona
Barcelona lets a coach stop close to its big sights, but only by booking. Each stop at Sagrada Família or Park Güell is a reservation with a clock on it.
Zona Bus 4.0 and the daily permit
The current system, Zona Bus 4.0, started on 26 January 2026. It requires a daily permit for every vehicle that has 9 or more seats, with the driver's seat counted. Minibuses are caught by that, not just coaches. Check the seat count before you assume a smaller vehicle is exempt.
Ten minutes at Sagrada Família
Advance booking is required for stops at MNAC, Hospital de Sant Pau, La Pedrera, Park Güell and Sagrada Família. Each Zona Bus stop can last up to 10 minutes, and the driver records the arrival and the exit in the SPRO app.
Ten minutes is enough to unload 50 people if they are ready. It is not enough if they are still buying water. Do the head count before the coach pulls in. At Park Güell the coach parks via Carretera del Carmel, by reservation only.

Rules for buses in Barcelona
- Zona Bus 4.0 went live 26 January 2026.
- Vehicles with 9+ seats, including the driver, need a daily Zona Bus permit.
- Stops at Sagrada Família, Park Güell, La Pedrera, Sant Pau and MNAC need advance booking.
- Drivers log arrival and exit with the SPRO app; a Zona Bus stop may last up to 10 minutes.
- ZBE Rondes (weekdays 07:00-20:00): buses and coaches must be Euro 4 or newer.
ZBE Rondes and the Euro 4 line
Inside the ZBE Rondes, a bus or coach has to meet Euro 4 or newer between 07:00 and 20:00 on weekdays. Weekends fall outside those hours, but any week-long programme will hit a weekday, so ask the operator to confirm the Euro standard on the quote.
El Prat, the cruise terminals and Fira Gran Via
El Prat is about 15 km out, 25 to 45 minutes. Group coaches at T1 load from Floor 0 Arrivals. T2 has coach docks at T2C, numbers 21 to 33, and at T2A, numbers 1 to 10 and 41 to 51.
The cruise terminals sit on the Adossat quay, plus WTCB on the Barcelona quay. Passenger and luggage drop-off is allowed; parking at the terminals is not. MWC's home, Fira Gran Via, lies outside the city in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Montserrat, Sitges and Girona
Sitges is 40 to 50 minutes away. Montserrat, Girona and Tarragona each take about an hour or a little more, which makes any one of them an easy half-day.
