Via Darsena Romana is the address of the Roma Cruise Terminal. Passengers reach their ship on an in-port shuttle, and the parking areas are within the port too. The walk from the port to Civitavecchia railway station is about 500 m.

Tell the operator your ship and berth time so the coach meets you in the right place. On disembarkation day, allow for the port shuttle and the wait for bags before you set a pick-up time.

Ship to Fiumicino

Fiumicino lies roughly 60 km from the port, a 40-60 minute drive. At the airport, coaches go to stands 20-26 of the T3 Arrivals coach hub, near exit 6. Follow the Bus Station signs.

For a small party, a chauffeur car is simpler. Chauffeur cars must be pre-booked at Fiumicino, with no rank pick-up. The drivers use PR7 for T3 and, for T1, Multipiano B's ground floor, with 40 minutes via the NCC hub.

A shore day in Rome means ZTL BUS permits

In Rome, every tourist bus needs a ZTL BUS permit. Zones A and C are enforced at all hours. Zone B runs 05:00-24:00. The permits have only been sold online since 1 January 2026. Zone C covers the historic centre and is closed to coaches, with three exceptions: disabled transport, school trips, and hotels with 40 or more rooms.

With a Colosseum permit comes a pre-booked parking and boarding area, Circo Massimo being one. Coach access near the Vatican is capped by a daily quota, weekends included. If the Vatican is on your list, book early so the operator can secure access for your date.

It is a walk of roughly 500 m from the port to the railway station. A coach suits groups with luggage or tight timings.

Can the coach drive us into the historic centre of Rome?

Zone C is closed to most tour groups. The coach uses permitted boarding areas such as Circo Massimo instead.

Can a pre-cruise hotel in the centre be served by coach?

Zone C allows coaches for hotels with 40 or more rooms. Check your hotel size with the operator.
